Good parts site for Emtek locks

I purchased this as a replacement and everything is correc except the hole for the square rod that holds he handles will not pass through the latch. I am sure I am missing something?? How do I remove the metal that blocks to hole in the latch? Thank you for your time

Each side of an Emtek passage and privacy latch works independently and the spindle does not fit all the way through the latch. please call 866-619-0834.
